This hike around Ajaccio will be an opportunity to discover the charming village of Villanova, quietly established on the heights of the Gulf of Lava. Only 25 minutes drive from Ajaccio, you can already enjoy the peace and quiet of a real Corsican village.

Here begins the Bomba trail, a pretty loop through the maquis via the Bomba valley, offering some very beautiful views of the Mediterranean. An easy level hike, away from the most popular paths in Ajaccio.

With a 50-minute drive to reach the village of Basticela, this hike around Ajaccio takes you a bit farther away, which takes place on the mountain side: but beware, the walk is worth the detour!

For this beautiful trail through forests and wild maquis, quite technical in places, set off equipped and plan a day trip to reach the famous “Pozzi”: these natural peat bogs, created by melting snow, make up one of the the most emblematic of all the Corsican mountains.

8. The Isolella Tower
